Daniel S. McLeod, the founder of Crime Point, Inc., is a recognized law enforcement expert, not only in surveillance but in the application of surveillance equipment for criminal prosecution and solutions to crime magnet locations. Frustrated with the lack of expertise and practical field knowledge by vendors selling products to law enforcement, his successes resulted in frequent requests for from other units and police agencies for assistance with surveillance products. Such demand led to an opportunity for him to establish a business based on a passion to serve law enforcement agencies by providing the highest quality equipment with exceptional product support.As a retired sergeant, Dan McLeod’s law enforcement career emphasized street and supervisory experience in some of the fastest, high-crime areas of a large Southern California agency. He served as a detective on narcotics, gang and special enforcement teams, developing expertise in community-wide gang eradication programs, Crime Prevention through Environment Design (CPTED) and authoring/teaching POST-approved courses state-wide on property-based criminal abatement. Under his direction, the Crime Point team encompasses resources in the areas of micro-processor, network and mechanical engineering, as well as craftsmen and communications professionals – all with a single-minded dedication to technological excellence, innovation and industry-leading customer service.
