“Walk-away” IP Surveillance Van Introduced

Crime Point Introduces IP-Controllable Surveillance Vehicle

Crime Point, the nation’s most progressive surveillance vehicle manufacturer, has rolled out its exclusive line of completely Internet-controllable IP Complete™ “walk-away” surveillance vans.

The company has offered the tactical and officer safety advantage of non-line-of-sight remote control of its surveillance vehicles and mobile video systems — standard — since 2006. In July 2007, Crime Point introduced periscope Internet control and monitoring at the NATIA technical investigators’ conference in Pittsburgh, PA. Now, the engineers at Crime Point have designed the nation’s first completely networked surveillance vehicle, giving officers the ability to walk away from the vehicle and have not only live video monitoring, but complete control over all surveillance functions from any Internet-enabled device anywhere within data coverage area.

“Our goal is to help law enforcement officers across the country stay safe and stay head of their suspects by providing capabilities they just can’t find with off-the-shelf products. We do not merely integrate components that are available elsewhere; but when a need becomes apparent, we commit our resources to engineering creative, outside-the-box solutions. Given the unpredictable and demanding nature of police work, we consider it our privilege to bring to the table any tool that will enhance their ability to do their jobs successfully and with the greatest protection,” said Crime Point president Daniel McLeod.

McLeod, a retired sergeant with the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department, noted “As a former field deputy, investigator and supervisor, I understand the potential dangers inherent in law enforcement as well as the effect of agency budgetary constraints. The ability to drop a vehicle for remote video surveillance not only multiplies the number of ‘eyes’ on the street, but allows officers the option of following criminal activity from a safe distance and responding to incidents strategically,” he said.

The “Walkaway” IP Complete™ Surveillance Vehicle is available in full-size, dedicated vans, semi-permanent minivan or SUV packages, mobile video systems that can be deployed from a variety of vehicles, and as an upgrade to most traditional, manned-only surveillance vans. Like all Crime Point vehicles, the “Walk-away” can be operated manned as well as unmanned, and contains removable surveillance components that can be used from other platforms or buildings for situations when the original vehicle is unsuitable. Further information about the company’s line of surveillance vehicles is avaiable at http://www.crimepoint.net/surveillance-vehicle.html

For the last decade , Crime Point has helped public safety officials do their jobs more easily, safely, and successfully by manufacturing and selectively representing turn-key law enforcement surveillance equipment and customizable components. In addition to its surveillance vehicle division, the company offers a continuously expanding product line including fixed covert and rapidly deployed tactical outdoor video systems, concealable portable camera and recording systems, and do-it-yourself equipment for integrators and technical agents.
