The high-sensitivity VB-M50B PTZ Network Camera captures video with remarkable color and clarity, even in very low-light environments. The camera’s advanced lens with large aperture ratio ranging from F1.8 (W) to F2.4 (T) allows more light to reach its sophisticated CMOS image sensor, and Canon’s powerful DIGIC DV III Image Processor helps to provide crisp images with remarkable color accuracy. The VB-M50B PTZ Network Camera can reproduce color video down to .04 lux* and black and white video down to .002** lux, making it ideal for many applications where lighting may be limited, ranging from security and surveillance to web casting.

The VB-M50B is equipped with a considerable long-range optical zoom capability made possible by the camera’s “Tele” focal length of 88.5mm, which is comparable to Canon’s robust VB-H43 model which offers 20X optical zoom. That functionality is backed by an Enhanced Digital Zoom function that can stream a lower resolution crop of the original high-resolution video, thereby achieving a similar level of video quality as with digital zoom – but at a lower resolution to minimize costly bandwidth and storage space.

The VB-M50B offers a fast and precise Pan/Tilt mechanism which is particularly beneficial to users, as is the ability to establish up to 64 preset camera positions and schedule up to five preset tour routes, eliminating the need for repeated manual adjustment of the pan/tilt/zoom positions.

With the Canon Camera Management Tool (CCMT), users can configure and manage Canon Network Cameras from a single screen. Configuration is also simplified via ONVIF Profile S and G conformance for maximum interoperability with many video management software (VMS) solutions.

The simple setup and use offered by the VB-M50B is furthered by a Camera Viewer that provides easy access to the camera’s features and functionality from a variety of different devices including PCs, mobile phones and tablets using iOS and Android operating systems. Additionally, the camera’s Bit Rate Stabilization feature can assure a more reliable connection by automatically suppressing bandwidth spikes when transmitting over cellular data.

To further enhance usability the VB-M50B also includes two features, Motion Adaptive Noise Reduction and Area-Specific Data Size Reduction (ADSR), which are both designed to help reduce data size while maintaining high image quality in important areas.

The VB-M50B also offers multiple image enhancement features including the new Clear IR Mode – which activates an Infrared Bandpass Filter that allows only infrared light to pass through to the image sensor – further contributing to this models capability to capture exceptional image quality even in challenging environments. Auto Gain Control allows users to determine the fine balance of video brightness and low noise, while Haze Compensation automatically enhances contrast and maximizes image quality when fog, haze, or smog are present. In addition, the VB-M50B also offers a selection of On-board Video Analytics including Moving Object Detection, Removed and Abandoned Object Detection.
